Italbrevetti currently has two open positions.

Intern – Patent Consultant

We are looking for a young graduate in engineering or other scientific disciplines eager to pursue a career as a patent attorney. There is an 18-month paid internship, after which the person will be able to take the bar exam and be placed in the firm on a permanent contract.

In addition to a bachelor’s degree, other prerequisites include proficient English language skills and strong organizational skills. A master’s degree, knowledge of a second language (French or German), as well as familiarity with MS Office, CAD or photo editing package applications are a welcome plus.

The intern’s work, overseen by the managers, entails:

• Drafting of patent texts
• Studying laws and regulations related to the patent field (Industrial Property Code, Implementing Regulations, …)
• Execution of patent drawings or editing of drawings and images
• Consulting and searching specialized databases
• Translations of patent texts
• Drafting of patentability and interference opinions
• Analysis of patent search reports and preparation of responses to official notifications.

Place of work: Pontedera (PI)

Patent Attorney

We are looking for a qualified patent attorney. The ideal person will have an experience in industrial property, strong organizational skills, resourcefulness and ability to work independently. Minimum requirements also include a bachelor’s degree in technical or scientific subjects and an excellent knowledge of English. Knowledge of a second language (German or French), a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, electronics, chemistry or similar, and familiarity with MS Office, CAD or photo editing package applications are preferred.

Possibilities of employment in the studio with an employee contract and compensation commensurate with the candidate’s actual experience will be considered, as well as professional association or external collaboration. In the latter case, in-person work will not be required.

This job entails:

• Drafting technical patent texts in Italian and English
• Consulting and searching specialized databases (technical and legal) in patents, trademarks, and designs
• Drafting opinions related to patentability, registrability, interference, infringement
• Preparing responses to official notifications from relevant agencies
